Our Main Camp is a baseball day camp for children ages 7 to 14. The program consists of 9 one-week sessions from June 28, 2010 to August 27, 2010, at Memorial Park (Spadina Rd. & Eglinton Ave.). From 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, we provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere in which young ball players can learn, practice, and compete. Instructors will lead the warm-up run and stretches to get the campers ready for the day.

9:15 - 9:30 AM: Throwing Instruction
After stretching, the groups will warm up their arms with specific throwing exercises. On Mondays, campers will learn the fundamentals of throwing, as well as drills emphasizing proper form. Each day, a new throwing drill will be introduced.

9:30 - 10:30 AM: Defensive/Hitting Stations
Skill Groups:
All campers are placed in a Skill Group for the week led by an NTBC Instructor. Players will travel from station to station in their Skill Group each morning. Skill Groups are determined based on both age and skill level. We try our best to ensure that all players are placed with their friends and are in a situation where they can thrive and have fun!

Stations:
Each day of the week features stations designed to focus on a specific range of skills. Types of days include: Offense, Defense and Position Specific. For example, on “Defense Day”, players are rotated in their Skill Group through a variety of different stations including infield, outfield, and pitching.

10:30 - 11:00 AM: Snack Break
All the skill groups will gather for a short water/snack break. Depending on interest, campers will play some fun games such as dodge ball, kick ball, and of course Bacha!

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Defensive/Hitting Stations
Skill groups will continue rotating throught their morning stations and activities. Please see 9:30 - 10:30 AM for more details!

12:00 - 1:00 PM: LUNCH
Campers must bring a lunch (peanut free!) to camp everyday. After finishing their lunch, the campers will get a chance to relax and enjoy a bit of free time. There will also be structured activities such as soccer, football, kickball and pepper set up for whoever wants to join in.

1:00 - 2:15 PM: Competitions and Activities
After lunch, friendly competitions and activities will take place. In order to best facilitate improvement among campers, the instructors will design mini-games and situations that let the kids play and experiment. Contests will include “Gold Glove”, “Home-Run Derby”, and base stealing competitions! This is an opportunity for campers to have some fun and show off the skills they learned in the morning.

2:15 - 2:30 PM: Snack Break
A quick water and snack break will be taken.

2:30 - 3:30 PM: Weekly Tournaments
On Monday, the group is divided into four teams, each coached by an Instructor. The teams compete in a round-robin from Monday to Thursday and battle for the Championship game on Friday afternoon. During the games, instructor’s will pause the game to discuss strategy and positioning. Parents are encouraged to come watch their kids on Friday!

3:30 - 4:00 PM: Camper Pick Up
Camp ends at 3:30 PM. Parents are welcome to pickup their children between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. There is no additional cost up until 4:00pm.

4:00 - 4:45 PM: Extended Care
In the case that a camper cannot be picked up by 4:00 PM, we offer extended care until 5:00 PM at a cost of $45.00 per week.

In case it rains, we have access to Forest Hill Hockey Arena, next door to Memorial Park. In addition to having a room for games and other indoor activities, we are able to use one of their two ice surfaces (which is not frozen in the summer) for physical activity and baseball instruction. If it is raining in the morning or afternoon, drop off and pick up will take place at the parking lot to Forest Hill Arena.

North Toronto Baseball Camp provides large coolers of Gatorade and water. Campers are advised to bring their own water bottles that they can re-fill throughout the day.

At the end of each week, players will receive a personalized Scouting Report detailing their strengths and areas for improvement. Players will be scouted on Fridays, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and techniques learned over the course of the week. In addition, all players are given a North Toronto Baseball Camp Instruction Manual that corresponds with the Scouting Report.
